Ingredients
1cupFarmer Direct Foods Heirloom Wheat Flour
1tbspsugar or honey
1tspbaking powder
1/2tspbaking soda
1/4tspsalt
3/4cupbuttermilkor any milk of choice
1egg
2tbspmelted butter or coconut oil
1tspvanilla extractoptional
Instructions
In a large bowl, whisk together the heirloom wheat flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate bowl, beat the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The batter will be thick and slightly lumpy — don’t overmix!
